Bo arrived in Cusco in January 2004 and by February the whole family were all in Colombia, along with Felix.
Quick Spanish lesson: “Hay = there is” and “No Hay = no there isn’t, no it is not possible, or its too hard, or why ask me?”

Though Bo didn’t appreciate at the time, we were in a land of “HAY.” That is opposed to Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia – which are countries of “NO effin’ HAY” (thanks Ted Simon!)

On Mum’s sixtieth we went paragliding in Medellin!!! What a way to celebrate. And then onto the gorgeous Caribbean Coast.   Bo’s dentist in Oz had helpfully told him that Colombia had the best dentists in the world – and so when mum broke a tooth – she was the best place to be.  So after Carnaval in  Baranquilla mum headed back to Cartagena for her dental work (and what was to end up as 3 months in Colombia) while Bo headed to Rio and Felix and I back to Peru.

Colombia is definitely the number one friendly, beautiful, incredible country in South America… and hey, perhaps even the world.
